Answers, plainly
The things customers ask most often, in the order they usually ask them.
What makes chakki atta different from packet atta?
Commercial flour is ground on high-speed rollers, which heat the flour and sift out the bran and germ. A stone chakki turns slowly, stays cool, and leaves the bran and germ in the flour. That is why ours looks slightly off-white and why the rotis stay soft — the fibre and oils are still there.
Do you mix maida or anything else into the atta?
No. Atta is wheat, ground. No maida, no bleaching agents, no improvers, no preservatives. If you ever find something that should not be there, call us — we will replace the bag and want to know about it.
How long does the atta keep?
Around two months in a dry, closed container, away from sunlight and the floor. Because there are no preservatives and the germ is still in the flour, it will go rancid faster than refined flour. Buy a size you will finish within six to eight weeks.
Can I bring my own wheat to be ground?
Yes, that is how this mill started. Bring your grain and we will grind it while you wait, charging per kilogram. Call first to check how busy the chakki is — mornings and early afternoons are usually quickest.
Why do you not print prices on the site?
Wheat and oilseed rates move every week, so a printed price would be wrong within days. We quote the day's rate on call or WhatsApp, and it stays fixed for your order.
Is the oil really cold pressed?
Yes — pressed in a ghani at low temperature with no heat, solvent or chemical refining. It is filtered through cloth, so a little sediment may settle at the bottom of the bottle. That is normal and is a sign it has not been refined.
Do you deliver, and how far?
Home orders inside Robertsganj are usually delivered free. Shop and kitchen orders go out across Obra, Dudhi and nearby blocks; transport beyond that is charged at actual cost. Tell us your town when you call.
What is the minimum for a wholesale order?
Ten bags for shops and five for kitchens, though we are flexible for regular customers. Rates, delivery days and packing can all be worked out on a short call — see the bulk orders page.
Do you supply under my own shop name?
For bulk customers, yes — plain bags with your label, if you prefer to sell under your shop's name. Ask about it when you enquire.
Where exactly is the mill, and when is it open?
Jokahi, Karki Manner, Robertsganj, Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh – 231216. Open Monday to Saturday, 7 am to 8 pm, and Sunday mornings until about 1 pm. A call before visiting saves you a wait: +91 63920 32470.
Question not answered?
Call the mill and ask directly — no forms, no waiting.
