Our process

Slow on purpose

Stone grinding and cold pressing are slower than the industrial route. That is the whole reason the flour and oil taste the way they do.

1. Wheat is bought locally

We buy Sharbati and Lokwan wheat from farmers and mandis around Sonbhadra. Before it comes in, we check moisture and weight by hand and reject grain that has been stored badly. Good atta cannot be made from poor wheat — no machine fixes that.

2. Cleaned and conditioned

The grain is sieved to remove chaff, dust and small stones, then lightly conditioned so the bran lifts cleanly instead of shattering into the flour. Every batch is cleaned just before grinding, not weeks earlier.

3. Ground on stone, slowly

The chakki turns at low speed, so the flour stays cool. High-speed roller mills heat the flour and strip out the bran and germ; a stone chakki keeps them, which is why our atta is off-white rather than bright white.

4. Oil pressed cold

Oilseed is cleaned and pressed in a ghani at low temperature — no steam, no solvent, no refining. The oil keeps its natural colour and smell, and settles naturally in the bottle.

5. Packed with a date

Filled into food-grade bags and bottles the same week it is made, with the milling or pressing date written on the label. If the pack has no date, it did not come from us.

6. Delivered locally

Shop orders and household orders go out across Robertsganj, Obra, Dudhi and nearby areas. Bulk loads are scheduled in advance so you are not left short before a weekend.

Our standards

What we check, every batch

  • Wheat moisture and weight before purchase
  • Stones and chaff removed before the grain reaches the chakki
  • Chakki stones dressed and cleaned on a fixed schedule
  • Oil filtered through cloth only — never chemically refined
  • Every bag weighed before dispatch
  • Milling or pressing date printed on the label
Straight talk

What we do not do

  • Mix maida into atta to lighten the colour
  • Add bleaching agents, improvers or preservatives
  • Heat or chemically refine our oils
  • Re-bag old stock and pass it off as fresh
  • Claim certifications we do not hold

FSSAI licence details are available at the mill on request.

Packaging

Packed for the journey, not the shelf

Atta goes into food-grade PP bags that breathe slightly, which suits a product with no preservatives. Oil goes into food-grade bottles and tins. Bulk orders can be packed in plain bags for shops that sell loose, or labelled under your own shop name.

Storing it right matters as much as packing it: keep atta in a dry container, away from the floor and sunlight, and finish it within two months.
